Nancy, Betty Ann and I met Gabrielle at the Bistro at the Oaks Monday evening and she graciously posed for a picture taken by one of her friends. We later watched Manna from Heaven and enjoyed it completely. Two of us, Cathy and Betty, had seen the film before. Nancy and Ann saw it for the first time. I felt it was even more enjoyable the second time around. As I explained to Gabrielle, the first time I had a bit of trouble relating the young characters to the older ones. It seemed crystal clear last night. We love the film and bought DVD's (and in my case also a VHS for a shut-in friend to view). Thanks again, Gabrielle and sisters for a wonderful, uplifting film. (We should have had our DVD in the shot!) It was an added treat for us to meet Frank Gorshin's sister at the Bistro next to the theater. He was always a great favorite of mine since early days as a comedian. What a great talent he was. I understand this was his last film; what a wonderful legacy! Sincerely, Cathy |
