Half of all of our history involves women’s stories. The HALF THE HISTORY project is dedicated to creating stories and advocates the importance of including women’s history equally alongside men’s. Research shows how the impact of seeing both females and males onscreen equally affects children’s as well as adult viewer’s expectations and ideas of what’s possible for men and women. HTH aims to address this by highlighting some historical women’s stories and encouraging others to do the same. Knowing these stories enriches our understanding of the past and present, and opens up new possibilities for the future.
